Q: What is Aquaknitify™? 

A: AquaKnitify is RPD’s proprietary process that first converts recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles to create a POLYESTER YARN. This yarn is then fused with a layer of cellulose (paper) using only water jet pressure to create a polyester-paper hybrid product that is ‘strong as cloth, absorbent as paper’.’ 

Q: Your product claims to be FDA Approved Food Contact Safe. Can I use it for cleaning for my food service kitchen (ovens, countertops, food equipment, tableware)? 

A: Yes, GW1108 M Cotton Rags have been lab tested and certified safe for food contact surface. It is manufactured without the use of chemicals and adhesives and is perfectly safe to clean any food preparation surfaces . 

Q: Is the product recyclable? How do I send it for recycling? 

A: As a general rule of thumb, all plastics are recyclable as long as they are in a clean and dry state. Even commonly recycled PET water bottles cease to be recyclable if they are not cleaned properly before sending to recycling facilities. 

GW1108 M Cotton Rags is manufactured with 50% polyester (plastic) and 50% cellulose (paper).  

Recyclability depends on the dirt that is being wiped. As an example, all recycling companies would not process wipes with motor oils and chemicals due their hazardous nature. In contrast, when used for soaking up clean water, chances of being acceptable for recycling becomes higher.  

Recycling also depends on profitability and willingness of recycling companies to accept materials that are less profitable or labour-intensive to process. Therefore, it really depends on the waste management companies and infrastructure available in your city / country.  

Q: Will the product deposit lint after application of chemicals?  

A: GW1108 M Cotton Rags is designed to be ultra low linting under normal usage for general cleaning on smooth surfaces. Linting and tearing may naturally occur when used over sharp edges or abrasive surfaces. 

For usage with chemicals, this product is designed to withstand 95% of cleaning chemicals in the market with the exception of strong solvents such as acetone and acids.  

If you have any doubts, we would gladly offer a sample so you can test it with your regular cleaning chemicals before committing to a purchase.  

Q: Is 1 piece of wipe equivalent to 1 piece of cloth rags? 

Q: Does 1 bag of cloth rags provide the same amount of utility as 1 box of GW1108 M Cotton Rags? 

A: A box of GW1108 M Cotton Rags was designed to replace a 20kg sack of cloth rags on a 1:1 ratio. However, usage amount and performance greatly depend on cleaning tasks the wipes are used on.  

[Cloth Rags] 1 sack = 20kg  = 150 pcs 

[GW1108 M] 1 box = 1kg   = 150 pcs 

Q: Can the wipes really clean like cloth rags? 

A: GW1108 M Cotton Rags cleans even better than cloth rags! Firstly, it is way more hygienic and does not deposit any dirt, dust and lint during wiping.  

Secondly, cellulose content in the wipes allows it to absorb spills and grease even better that cloth rags. 

Q: This is FDA Certified? Do you have the certificate? 

A: Yes. Proof of product safety is available upon request.  

Q: Are the wipes colour fast? Will the blue colour transfer and stain surfaces? 

A: Yes, the wipes are colour fast. The only exception is when it is used with acetone. In this case, the blue in the wipes will lighten but does not transfer onto wiped surfaces or cause staining.  

If colour staining concerns you, we recommend that you use any of Greenwipes’ range of white-based wipes instead.  

Q: Do you have other ways of dispensing? A cardboard box packaging produces dust. 

A: Yes. At an added cost, we can provide you with a plastic dispenser. 

Q: What else can I use GW1108 M Cotton Rags for? 

You can use GW1108 M Cotton Rags to wipe any surface you would use cloth rags to wipe, i.e.: Metal, plastic, glass and machinery. It is great for cleaning and removing debris, spills, oils and grease.  

And because it is FDA Approved Safe for Food Contact Surfaces, it is more hygienic to be used on a food processing equipment, food preparation surfaces, tableware, glassware and more.  

Q: How do I educate my employees that this product is not a regular paper towel? 

A: Before introducing this product to your operations, we highly recommend that you conduct a briefing / training session to educate your employees on how to properly use and dispose the wipes. 

We are also able to offer you a link to download a cautionary warning (Caution: Do Not Flush) so you can print and display at your workspace.  

Q: Why is the product in BLUE? 

A: GW1108 M Cotton Rag was designed to accommodate the food processing industry. The colour BLUE is not naturally present in foods, and so would be easily detectable should the wipes (whole or pieces) accidentally contaminate food at any time during production. 

Q: How do I save on Scheduled waste? 

Q: How does this product save cost? 

A: GW1108 M Cotton Rags is cheaper to purchase compared to cloth rags. On top of that, due to its lightweight design, you save on shipping/transportation and storage costs.  

When used cloth rags are disposed, companies are charged a Scheduled Waste Management fee (SW410) to properly manage this waste to prevent poisoning and contamination of environmental soil and water. This is charged by weight of the disposed waste. Because of the lightweight nature of GW1108 M Cotton Rags, you pay significantly less.
