Q: How is Sorbpad better for my health? 

Loose type absorbents such as sawdust, vermiculite and clay granules disperse fine dusts that are inhaled into the lungs and can cause long term effects like lung cancer and lung damage. Besides that, these dusts are a known irritant that causes eye sensitivity, nose itchiness, skin allergies and more.  

With Greenwipes Sorbpads, you get a dust-free, mess-free and fast cleaning that is better for your health in the long run and reduces the risk of workplace accidents due to slippery or dirty floors.  

Q: Should I get the Corrosive Chemical Absorbent Pad or Universal Absorbent Pad to soak up chemicals at my workplace, since both are able to absorb chemicals? 

It depends on what chemicals are used in your workplace. If your chemicals are mild and non-aggressive, for example Isopropyl alcohol, cleaning detergents, acetone or coolant, then you can select the Universal Absorbent Pad. The Universal Pad is also a great option if you anticipate a combination of chemical, liquid and oil spills in your space. 

The Sorbpad Corrosive Chemical Absorbent Pad can withstand and retain aggressive or caustic chemicals spills in your workspace (hydrocloric acid, hydrofloridic acid, amino benzoic acid) to avoid potantial injuries or burns.  

Q: If I use absorbent pads, do I still need to stock up on absorbent booms/pillows? What is the difference? 

A: It depends on the amount of liquids, oils and chemicals that are handled daily in your workplace. For small and mid sized spills, just having the absorbent pads is sufficient. For large scale spills, like oceanic oil spills, absorbent booms are useful to contain the spills from spreading. In this instance, both absorbent pads and absorbent booms would be needed. Absorbent pillows are used for larger spills too but offer less flexibility of maneuvering compared to pads and booms. 

Q:  Which Absorbent Pad do I choose to soak up oils at my workplace, since all are able to absorb oils? 

The Oil Absorbent Pad is great for spaces that deal with a lot of oil leaks and spills or for situations where you need to soak up only oils but not water/liquids, for example in oceanic oil spills or construction sites. 

The Universal Pad is also a great option if you anticipate a combination of chemical, liquid and oil spills in your space. 

Q: How much can a sheet of absorbent pad absorb? 

One absorbent sheet can absorb approximately 1.1L of liquids / chemicals / oils. 

Q: Can the absorbent pads be reused? 

It depends on what the absorbent pads are being used to absorb. For example, if it is used to soak up non aggressive spills like water, then it can be wrung out and reused.  

When used on oil spills or chemicals, it is highly recommended to be double bagged and disposed according to local regulations.  

Q: Can the absorbent pads be recycled? 

Q: How do you dispose the absorbent pads after it has been used to soak up spills? 

As most of these pads are used to absorb oil and chemicals, we do not recommend that you attempt to recycle used pads. After using, double bag and dispose into a clearly marked bin designated for hazardous materials and dispose through proper channels (scheduled waste disposal) to avoid environmental pollution. 

Q: What type of chemicals/liquids can be absorbed by the Universal Pad? 

The Universal Pad can absorb all types of liquids and non-aggressive chemicals, as well as oil and grease.  

Q: In what situation do you choose the Universal Pad instead of a pad for more specific use (chemical/oil)? 

The Universal Absorbent Pad is also referred to as the maintenance pad. This means that if you experience regular minor spills at your work place (excluding hazardous chemicals) that ranges from oil, liquids and chemicals. Then, you should pick the Universal Absorbent Pad. 

While the Corrosive Chemical Absorbent Pad is able to also do the same job, it is priced higher because it is able to withstand and retain even caustic substances. For cost efficiency, most businesses that do not deal with these chemicals would choose to use the Universal Pad instead.  

The Oil Absorbent Pads are designed only to pick up oils. These are great for work spaces that face large amounts of oil spills and leaks regularly. 

Q: What is the difference between Roll and Pre-cut sheets? Which one should I choose for my business?  

Pre-cut sheets come in perforated edges to offer you convenience and easy dispensing. It is great for minor spills and leaks.  

Rolls offer you more flexibility. They can be cut into big or small pieces to fit any surface size. Sometimes they are cut to line shelves and drawers to protect furniture from leaks. Or, they can be placed whole on big spills.  

Q: What is the difference between Thin and Thick option? 

Thin pads are cost efficient for daily small spills and leaks. Thicker rolls are more efficient for bigger spills.  

Q: Do you have other forms of absorbent (loose/boom/pillow)? 

Not at the moment. Depending on your order quantity, we would be able to accept special orders for other forms as well. 

Q: Do you sell it in smaller quantities? 

Not at the moment. If your business deals with lots of oil and liquids, we are sure that a roll/box will be used up quickly. But if you would like to test out the products first, we will gladly provide you with samples.  

Q: What is the difference between Sorbpads and your other wiping products? 

Sorbpads are designed to ABSORB large quantities of fluids/oils/. Wiping products are meant for WIPING AND CLEANING surfaces. They can be used on small spills but are not as efficient.
