Q: What cleanroom class can GW-1109 PRO be used in? 

A: GW-1109 PRO can be used in cleanrooms ISO Class 6 or Class 1000 and above and on sensitive surfaces that require abrasion-free, contaminant-free cleaning. 

Q: Can I use GW-1109 PRO with chemicals like Acetone and Isopropyl Alcohol? 

A: Yes. GW-1109 PRO is manufactured without any chemical binders using our proprietary Aquaknitify™ Technoloy. This means that the wiper is only woven entirely out of high-pressure water jets. Therefore, the material does not dissolve or leech chemicals onto surfaces when used with strong cleaning chemicals such as IPA and Acetone. 

Q: What is Aquaknitify™?  

A: AquaKnitify is RPD’s proprietary process that first converts recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles to create a POLYESTER YARN. This yarn is then fused with a layer of cellulose (paper) using only water jet pressure to create a polyester-paper hybrid product that is ‘strong as cloth, absorbent as paper’.’

Q: Why is it important for a cleanroom wiper to be ESD safe? Is GW-1109 PRO ESD safe?  

A: Electrostatic discharge or ESD is a sudden flow of electrical current when two charged objects come in contact with each other, resulting in a sudden jolt. In Electronics Manufacturing, even a small spark caused by ESD can cause permanent damage in electrical components or a fire or explosion, resulting in huge losses. Therefore, these facilities need to ensure that their wiping materials are ESD safe, or static dissipative. 

GW-1109 PRO is tested to be ESD safe and can be used on electrical components and manufacturing facilities with peace of mind.  

Q: I am in Europe. Can I import GW-1109 PRO?  

A: Yes. It has been tested and certified to conform to EU Regulatory Requirements: (EC) 1935/2004. 

Q: What does it mean for my business if the wiping material ‘conforms to EU Regulatory Requirements: (EC) 1935/2004’? 

EU Regulatory Regulation 1935/2004 covers materials that come in contact with food or surfaces that will come in contact with food. It is put in place to ensure the safety of end products. This means that no harmful substances such as heavy metals or plastics will leech into food products when using a wiping material to clean food related surfaces and food processing machinery and equipment. 

GW-1109 PRO is tested to conform to the requirements set by the EU Regulatory Regulation 1935/2004. Certifications are available upon request. 

Q: What is FDA compliant? And what does it mean for my business if it is FDA food safe?
To be FDA compliant, a cleaning material must be deemed ‘food safe’. This means that it does not contain health hazards like heavy metals and does not leech chemicals when used in food preparation environment.  

GW-1109 PRO is independently lab tested and certified FDA approved food contact safe. Certifications are available upon request. 

Q: Why do you claim that GW-1109 PRO is certified free from microorganisms? Do you have any proof to back this up? 

A: GW-1109 PRO is tested and certified to be free of microorganisms such as Staphylococcus Aureus, E.Coli, Salmonella, by independent testing laboratories. Proof of product safety is available upon request.   

While the product has been vacuum-packed during manufacturing to keep out contaminants, once opened and subject to storage and usage conditions by customers, contamination may occur.  

Q: What industries is this product suitable to be used? 

A:  GW-1109 PRO is tested free from contaminants, chemicals, heavy metals, microorganisms and is certified Safe for Food Contact Surface. Therefore, it is an ideal option for GMP Manufacturing Facilities, Food Processing and Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Laboratories, Cleanrooms and more.  

Q: What do you mean by ‘Paint Friendly’? Why is it important? 

In the painting industry, the absence of silicone contamination is critical to maintain the integrity of paint jobs. GW-1109 PRO has been tested to be free of silicone oil.  

Even the smallest amount of silicone contamination can ruin a paint film. It causes what the industry calls ‘fisheyes’, ‘craters’ and ‘cissing’ on painted surfaces. These are visible imperfections that appear after painting and requires a lot of work and effort to fix.
