Q: What is CRUMBTEX?

Q: Why are there holes on the cloth?

A: Crumbtex is a mesh texture technology that enables the cloth to trap fine powders and crumbs more effectively between its gaps. 

Q: Why does ColorCloth dry faster than competitor’s products?

A: Crumbtex mesh texture allows more airflow through the cloth, compared to a cloth that is more dense. 

Q: What material is ColorCloth made of?

A: 70% Viscose + 30% Polyester. Viscose is a plant based fibre.

Q: Where is this product from?

A: Greenwipes is a Malaysian product by a Malaysian company; RPD Malaysia Sdn Bhd. 

Q: How does it help with HACCP?

A:  It can help remove a few types of hazards in a food preparation and processing system.

1. It helps with colour coding so businesses can use one colour for each area or task to prevent cross contamination.
2. It is lint free and durable. So, no lint or fibre pieces will get into food. 
3. It is FDA approved Food Contact Safe. Which means that food handlers can wipe surfaces or equipment that processes food without worrying that harmful chemicals from the cloth will contaminate the food. Cloths like microfibre are coated with waterproof and anti bacteria chemical coating and will shed microfibre bits that will cause long term illnesses when ingested.

Q: What makes ColorCloth odour-free?

A: ColorCloth PRO is not manufactured with additional anti bacterial coating or chemicals, so that it is safe to be used on food surfaces. However, its quick drying properties ensure that the cloth does not stay damp for long, depriving bacteria of the damp conditions needed for it to breed.

Bacteria growth also causes foul odours on damp cloths. That is why, ColorCloth PRO is able to resist odours better than conventional wiping materials.

Q: Is Greenwipes ColorCloth environmentally friendly?

A: Yes, for a few reasons.

1. It is made of 70% plant based material that can degrade after being disposed. It has one of the highest compositions of natural material among similar products. Although other wipes may look exactly the same, it might be made with 100% polyester, which is not biodegradable. 
2. It is lightweight, so it takes less fuel and energy used for transporting it from place to place. And, when it is disposed, it takes up less space in landfills compared to rags or cloths. 
3. It is recyclable, if the correct recycling facilities and technologies are available at its locality. (Not available in Malaysia)

Q: Can ColorCloth be used to wipe directly on food?
A: Depends. It is safe when the cloth is new and clean. But chances of transferring dirt and bacteria are higher when you use a cloth that has been used and re-washed many times. So if you absolutely have to wipe on foods directly, do use a new piece. 

Q: Besides countertops, and food related equipment, where else can I use ColorCloth for?

A: Because it is extremely low linting and food safe, the possibilities are endless. In food related industries, you can use it to clean your chopping boards, work stations and anything else, really. It is great for drying drinking and wine glasses as it is hygienic and does not leave any visible lint .

In other industries, it can be used in place of a wiping cloth. It is strong enough to withstand strong solvents, oils, paints and chemicals used for cleaning, as well as non-VOC and water-based solvents and cleaning solutions. 

Q: Why is ColorCloth manufactured in such a big size?

A: Bigger cloth means better absorbency and you will be able to absorb more spills and liquids faster. In the event that you are not comfortable with such a big sheet, you could also cut the sheet into half. 

Q: Why is your ColorCloth available in so many colours?

A: ColorCloth is designed to support a color coding system to differentiate wiping cloths by area or task to avoid cross contamination for food related industries that need to adhere to a HACCP system.

Colorcloth is available in Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White. 

Q: Is the wipe reusable and how many times are they reusable?

A: ColorCloth is washable and machine washable up to 50 times. However, depending on what you are using the cloth for, it is advisable not to reuse it for too long for hygiene and lint sensitive surfaces as the lint-free and antibacterial qualities will degrade after a while. 

Q: What is the difference between ColorCloth and similar ones that you can easily find in retail stores and consumer e-commerce sites? 

A: Although ColorCloth Pro may look similar to the ones available in retail stores and e-commerce stores, the difference in performance and quality is significant. 

The products mentioned are meant to be used by end consumers for light cleaning at home and are not FDA approved safe for food contact. At first touch, you will find a big difference in thickness. When used, the consumer quality ones are no match in absorbency and durability. ColorCloth Pro is specially designed for professional and commercial use, so it can withstand heavy usage.

ColorCloth has superior clean up performance on sauces, oils and spills that you will not get with consumer quality products.

Q: Is Colorcloth lint-free?

A: It is not completely zero lint, but is ultra low linting. 

Q: How is ColorCloth better than Microfiber wipes?

A: Microfiber cloths are generally not recommended for food contact surfaces for a few reasons. 

1. They shed micro plastics into surfaces. Micro plastics can cause short and long term harm on human health including cell damage, allergic reactions, various cancers, weakened immune system, infertility and more. 
2. They dry too slowly and can harbour food bits, resulting in bacterial breeding.
3. They are not regulated for food safety.

Bear in mind that Greenwipes do sell microfibre cloths as well. But these are recommended for non-food related purposes such as for washing cars, wiping window glass panels, and more.
