Q: What is OptiDri™ technology?  

A: OptiDri™ is Greenwipes® unique technology for optimised controlled release of liquids, so you get well saturated wipes that retain a generous amount of cleaning formulation but does not release its liquids in excessively damp patches. Simply put, you get just the right amount of alcohol for both effective cleaning and fast drying.  

Q: Why is it important for Isopropyl Alcohol cleaning wipes to be quick drying when cleaning electronics?  

A: When it comes to Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes used for cleaning electronics, fast evaporation is important as most elements are water sensitive and may get damaged by prolonged exposure to liquids.   

It is the preferred cleaning solvent for the electronics industry as it dries quickly without residues, shortening the time spent waiting for electrical components to dry. Quick drying properties of IPA also enables it to mix and remove any water / moisture found in electrical components as it evaporates.  

With Greenwipes® IPA Presaturated Wipes, you get just the right amount of alcohol to facilitate effective cleaning and fast drying. 

Q: What are the safety precautions needed when using Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes?  

A: Though not corrosive, Isopropyl is highly efficient in removing oils from surfaces. To prevent from stripping skin’s moisture and protective barrier, nitrile gloves should ideally be worn to protect the skin.  

Secondly, ensure that the IPA wipes are stored in a cool, dry place as it has flammable properties. It is important to keep it away from heat or fire.   

Lastly, use the presaturated IPA wipes in a well-ventilated area, as it may release vapours that are flammable. Inhalation of vapours may be hazardous to health, too.   

Q: Can Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes be used for disinfection too?  

A: Yes. Besides removing manufacturing residues from electronics, Isopropyl Alcohol is a highly reliable as a disinfectant as well when formulated with 70% concentration and above. Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes is formulated with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, therefore is effective for use as a disinfectant wipe as well.   

Q: Can Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes be used on plastics?  

Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastics and polycarbonate are 2 types of plastics used in electronics manufacturing and are commonly found in electronic parts. Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes can safely be used on all types of plastics without melting them.   

However, extra caution should be taken when used on CLEAR plastics such as acrylic as IPA might cloud clear plastics. A spot test is ALWAYS recommended prior to first time usage.   

Q: What can I clean with Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes?  

A: Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes can be used to clean common elements that require removing in the electronics manufacturing process. This includes adhesives, solder paste, flux, residues, thermal paste, ink, dust, debris, finger prints and light grease and oils  

Q: What is Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes formulated with?  

A: Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes is formulated with 70% electronics grade Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and 30% Deionized Water (DI). 

Q: What is Deionised Water (DI) and why is it important for cleaning electronics? 

A: Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes is formulated 30% Deionized Water (DI). In regular water, minerals and impurities are present. This makes it a good conductor of electricity. DI water goes to RO (Reverse Osmosis) process to remove all impurities and ions, hence preventing corrosion and static build up from electrical charges. 

No static charges and minerals means less damage to electronics.  

Q: Can I use Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes to wipe food surfaces? 

A: Greenwipes® IPA Pre-saturated Wipes is pre-soaked in industrial grade Isopropyl Alcohol and is designed to be used on electronics and similar applications.  

For food and pharmaceuticals related industry, we recommend our Greenwipes ® GShield 70% Alcohol Disinfecting Wipes (200 Sheets). 

Q: Why should I switch to pre-saturated wipes? What are the benefits over using dry wipes and an IPA spray bottle / dispenser? 

A: Convenience 

Greenwipes® IPA Presaturated Wipes are presoaked with electronics grade IPA. This means each sheet is consistently soaked with just the right amount of IPA. This is good because it is quick and easy to use. Just pull out a sheet and wipe.  

Prevent Accidents and Fire Hazards 

Too much accidents, variations and inconsistency can happen with manual application such as spills, over dispensing, under dispensing and more. Full bottles of IPA can also be a fire hazard, more so than pre-wetted IPA wipes, as the latter is less likely to spill or emit vapours into the environment.
